Ajax: The Great Waterfront Trail Adventure!

 

The Great Waterfront Trail Adventure, running from July 4 to 11, 2009, is in its second year. The amazing end-to-end bike tour covers 730 kilometres of Ontario's waterfront and 41 communities over eight days. Every single day of this fully supported tour includes the WOW Factor – the Wonderful Ontario Waterfront along the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. Discover vibrant communities and beautiful parks; experience delicious local food and entertainment; and enjoy charming shops and unique local businesses. Sign up as a single, a family or a group. You can even arrange to divide the ride into a relay with each member of your group doing a different leg of the trip. Whether you are an experienced cyclist, someone who rides once in a while or even someone who hasn’t been on a bike for years--everyone is welcome to join us. The Great Waterfront Trail Adventure is a journey designed to re-connect the public to the Great Lake and the St. Lawrence River. On July 4th, 2009 The WRT will launch the second annual 8 day Great Waterfront Trail Adventure, it is a chance to experience the rich diversity of 41 waterfront communities from Niagara to the Quebec border Whether you are an experienced cyclist, someone who rides once in a while or even someone who hasn't been on a bike for years-everyone is welcome to join. A year-round farmers' market every Thursday afternoon from 3 to 7 pm. Outdoors in the beauty of the park in summer, on the skating rink pad in fall, and inside the rink buildings throughout the winter. Local farmers and city-based food producers bring a great variety of organic foods. A special feature of the market is wood-fired oven breads baked right in the park.
