The For the Birds fundraiser has been created for the Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) to: -Bring attention to the ongoing mandate of the TBG to promote environmental awareness through education -Support TBG fundraising efforts -Inspire the community to become aware of the plight of songbirds due to environmental degradation -Promote a message of wildlife preservation, ecological awareness and sustainability -Jumpstart the TBG long term vision of extending it's influence beyond the local site -Educate visitors to TBG on principles of bird nesting, habitat and support. This objective of the birdhouse competition was to design and construct birdhouses that promoted nesting and provided shelter for migrating birds. Special Bruce Trail Day Bus Hike

Free interpretive, introductory guided hikes featuring spectacular fall colours are set for Sunday October 4th. This is the perfect way for the whole family to explore our magnificent Niagara Escarpment and to get to know your local Bruce Trail Club. Join us on a trip to scenic Scotsdale Farm, near Georgetown, and enjoy a 10 km guided hike over rolling hills and through woodlands. The hike will begin at 10:00 am and will last about 3 hours. We recommend you bring a lunch and water. A bus will pick up passengers at Clarence Square at 9:00 am. Clarence Square is located on Spadina Ave. between Front St. and King St. The cost of the trip is $5. Space is limited, therefore it is first come, first served at Clarence Square.
