A couple of weeks ago we wrote about a meeting to discuss the proposed Toronto lake windfarm.
As you might have heard, so many people showed up to the Toronto Hydro meeting about the wind farm test that it had to be cancelled. Both supporters and opponents of the wind farm attended, with 200 people inside, and another 200 people left outside.
The meeting has now been rescheduled.

You can view the map of the location at the bottom of this article.
Current Status of the Lake Wind Farm
Opponents of the windfarm have said that "It would turn this heritage site into like being on an airport runway 24/7" and that "I think putting a wind farm off the bluffs is like throwing paint on the Mona Lisa".
This excellent picture on the Star website shows what the wind farm should look like from the shore. The proposed turbines will be built about 2km out in the lake water.
Here are some current reactions and discussion about the wind farm, both positive and negative. GreenGTA will keep an eye on this issue and will keep everyone updated with developments as they happen.
