This weekend and next weekend, you can get a free gift card by recycling your used used air conditioner, dehumidifier or halogen lamp. Canadian Tire and OPA are offering The Rewards for Recycling program to help encourage recycling.
When you take one of these household items to Canadian Tire this weekend (the 18th & 19th), or next weekend (the 25th and 26th), you will be given a gift card you can use at Canadian Tire.
A used air conditioner is worth $25, while you will get $10 for a dehumidifier or halogen lamp. According to the Canadian Tire flyer, the "old units will be responsibly recycled".

If you can't make it out this weekend to Canadian Tire, don't throw that air conditioner into the dump - you can likely still dispose of it for free in the spring through the Keep Cool program.
