York Region Water for Tomorrow Program Expands in 2009


The Regional Municipality of York has added mail-in rebates for "a variety of water-efficient fixtures" in the Region.

 

The rebates are part of the Water for Tomorrow program, which offers education and savings to help save water in the Region.

 

Currently, the program offers:

 

  • Instant rebate sales events for rain barrels
  • Instant rebate sales events for water efficient toilets
  • Free pre-rinse spray valves for commercial kitchens
  • Water audits for industrial, commercial and institutional organizations
  • Free water-efficient home landscape garden audits
  • Free Gardening workshops.
  • The York Children`s Water Festival
  • Information on how York residents can save water

 

You can also download a Water Efficient Plants Selection Guide (PDF), a Native Plant List (PDF), and other free guides from the website. Over the course of the last 10 years, the program is estimated to have saved over 47.5 billion litres of water.
